The National Radiological Protection Board (Constitution Amendment) Order 1980

Whereas a draft of the following order was laid before Parliament and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State for Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 2(2) of the Radiological Protection Act 1970(a), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after consultation with the National Radiological Protection Board, hereby makes the following order:—

Citation and commencement

1. This order may be cited as the National Radiological Protection Board (Constitution Amendment) Order 1980 and shall come into operation on 31st July 1980.

Amendment of section 2 of the Radiological Protection Act 1970

2. In section 2(1) of the Radiological Protection Act 1970 for the word "nine" there shall be substituted the word "twelve".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Order.)

This Order amends section 2 of the Radiological Protection Act 1970 so as to increase from 9 to 12 the maximum membership of the Board.
