W
HEREAS the Town
of
New Sleaford
in
the County
of
Lincoln
is a
Market Town, and very populous, and the
several Parishes, Townships, Hamlets,
and
Places
of
Anwick, Ashby-de-la-Laund, Asgarby, Boughton, Aslackby, Mill-
thorpe, Aswarby, Billinghay, Dogdike, Billingborough, Blan/cneyy Lin-
wood,
Bhxholm, Brauncewell, Dunsby, Temple Bruer, Burton Pedwar-
dine, Cranwell, Digby, Dorrington, Dowsby, Graby, Dunsby near
Dowsby, Ewerby, Ewerby Thorpe, Evedon, Falldngham, Great Hale,
Little Hale, Haverholm, Heckington, Garwick, Helpringham, Thorpe
Latimer, Horbling, Bridge End, Howell^ Kirkby Laythorpe, Kirkby
Green, Kirkby Underwood, South Kyme, North Kyme, Laughton,
Leasingham, Roxholm, Martin, Navenby, Pointon, Quarrington, North
Rauceby, South Rauceby, Rippingale, Rowston, Sheffield House,
Ruskington, Scopwick, Scredington, Sempringham, Birthorpe, Old
Sleaford, Holdingham, Spanby, Swaton, Threekingham, Stow, Timber-
land,
Thorpe Tilney, Wakot near Billinghay, Wellingore, Welbourn,
and Silk Willoughby,
in
the County of Lincoln, are also populous:
And whereas
an
extensive Trade
is
carried
on in
the said Market
Town, as also in many of the several Parishes, Townships, Hamlets,

Where and
when Courts
shall be
holden.

and Places before mentioned, and Credit, in small Sums, to a con-
siderable Amount, is frequently given by Tradesmen and Shop-
keepers, and great Numbers of People residing or trading within all
or a great many of the said Parishes, Townships, Hamlets, and Places
contract with such Tradesmen and Shppkeepers Small Debts, which
in the whole amount yearly to a very large Sum of Money; and
although many of such Debtors are well able to pay their respective
Debts they often refuse to pay the same, by reason of which their
respective Creditors are either obliged to forego their respective
Debts,
or for the Recovery thereof to incur an Expence sometimes
far exceeding and in all Cases disproportionate to the Sum in dis-
pute : And whereas it would be a great Benefit to the Inhabitants
of the said Market Town, and the said several Parishes, Townships,
Hamlets, and Places, and tend much to the Support and Protection
of useful Credit within the same, if an easy and speedy Method of
recovering Small Debts within the said Market Town, Parishes,
Townships, Hamlets, and Places were provided; but the same canndt
be effected without the Aid and Authority of Parlii&ment^: May it
therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted; and be it
enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by a^d with the
Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Com-
mons,
in this present Parliament assembled^and by the Authority
of the same, That the Judge and his Successors, to be appointed as
herein-after mentioned, shall be a Court of Justice for the Recovery
of Small Debts within the said Market Town, and the said several
Parishes, Townships, Hamlets, and Places^ by the Name of " The
Sleqford Court of Requests."
II,
And be it enacted, That the said Court shall be holden at
some convenient Place within the said Town of New Sleqford, for the
several Parishes, Townships, and Places of New Sleqford, Anwick,
Ashby-de-la-Laund, Asgarby, Boughton, Aswarby, Billinghay, Dog-
dike, Blankney, Linwood, Bloxholm, Brauncewell, Dunsby, Temple
Bruer, Burton Pedwardine, Cranwell, Digby, Dorrington, Exverby,
Ewerby Thorpe, Evedon, Great Hale, Little Hale, Haverholm,
Heckington, Garwick, Helpringham, Thorpe Lattimer, Howell, Kirkby
Laythorpe, Kirkby Green, South Kyme, North Kyme, Leasingham,
Roooholm, Martin, Navenby, Quarrington, North Rauceby, South
Rauceby, Rowston, Sheffield House, Ruskington, Scopwick, Scredington,
Old Sleaford, Holdingham, Spanby, Timberland, Thorpe Tilney, Walcot
near Billinghay, Wellingore, Welbourn, and Silk
VVilloughby,
and at
the Town of Falkingham for the several Parishes, Townships, Ham-
lets,
and Places of Falkingham, Aslackby, Millthorpe, Billingborough,
Dowsby, Graby, Dunsby near Dowsby, Horbling, Bridge End, Kirkby
Underwood, Laughton, Pointon, Rippingale, Sempringham, Birthorpe,
Swaton, Threekingham, and Stow, at such Times as the said Judge
shall appoint, but so that the Intervals between the holding of any
Two such Courts at New Sleqford shall in no Case be more than
Two Calendar Months, and at Falkingham more than Three Calendar
Months.

And be it enacted, That it
