An Ad to enable the
Norwich
Union Society for Infu-
rance againft Lofs by Fire to fue in the Name of
their Secretary, and to be fued in the Names of
their Directors, Treafurers, and Secretary.

HEREAS feveral Perfons have formed thetnfelves into a Society,
under the Name of' The Norwich Union Society,' for Infurance
againft Lofs by Fire, and have raifed confiderable Sums of
Money in order to infure each other, and all Perfons becoming Members of
the faid Society, from and againft all Lofs and Damage happening by means
of Fire to Buildings, Houfes, Goods, Merchandizes, and Effeds belonging
to any Member or Members of the faid Society in any Part or Parts of
Great
Britain,
other than and except the City of
London
and the Liberties
thereof,
and the feveral other Places within the Weekly
Bills
of Mortality

And whereas all Perfons infuring in or with the faid Society are Members
thereof to all Intents and Purpofes, and entitled to all the Advantages
thereof:
And whereas the Public hath been greatly benefited by the
Formation of fuch Society with a competent Capital to carry on the
Concerns
thereof,
and a confiderable Revenue is derived to His Majefty
therefrom: And whereas Difficulties have arifen, and may from Time
to Time arife, in recovering Debts due to the faid Society called ' The
Norwich
Union Society/ and alfo in profecuting Perfons who may fteal
or embezzle the Property of, or who may commit or be guilty of any
other Offence againft, or with Intent to injure or defraud the laid Society,
fince by,,Law the individual Members of the faid Society muft in fuch
Cafes fue and profecute by their feveral and diftincT: Names and Defcrip-
tions:
And whereas Difficulties may from Time to Time arife in recover-
ing Debts owing by the faid Society to the individual Members
thereof,
