Notes on Contributors
Jonathan Fox is Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, Bar Ilan
University. He has published numerous articles on the influence of religion and
culture on politics and conflict. He is also the author of Ethnoreligious Conflict in
the Late Twentieth Century (Lexington Books, 2002).
Neil T. Gavin is Lecturer in the School of Politics and Communication Studies,
University of Liverpool. His publications include, as editor, Economy, Media and
Public Knowledge (Leicester University Press, 1998) and, as co-editor, Britain Votes,
1997 (Oxford University Press, 1997). He is currently working on a book about the
economy, the single currency and the mass media.
Anthony J. Langlois is Lecturer in International Relations, School of Political and
International Studies, Flinders University, Adelaide. He is the author of The Politics
of Justice and Human Rights: Southeast Asia and Universalist Theory (Cambridge
University Press, 2001).
Steven A. Lecce is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science,
University of Western Ontario. He has published on liberalism and democracy. His
research interests include the history and idea of toleration; the ethical founda-
tions of liberalism; and contemporary theories of distributive justice.
Mike Marinetto works in the Business School, Cardiff University. He is currently
completing some articles on active citizenry and a book on contemporary theories
of the state.
Charles Pattie is Professor of Geography at the University of Sheffield. He has
published widely on electoral geography and is co-author (with Patrick Seyd and
Paul Whiteley) Atomised Citizens (forthcoming), a study of democracy and participa-
tion in Britain.
Bruce Pilbeam is Lecturer in American Politics. He authored the book Conservatism
in Crisis? Anglo-American Conservative Ideology After the Cold War (Palgrave, 2003).
