Vikki Bell is Reader in the Sociology Department at Goldsmiths College, Univer-
sity of London. Her recent publications include Feminist Imagination: Genealogies in
Feminist Theory (Sage, 1999) and articles concerning identity, ethics and politics.
Richard Boyd is Assistant Professor of Politics, University of Wisconsin-Madison,
Madison, USA. His previous publications include Uncivil Society: The Perils of Plural-
ism and the Making of Modern Liberalism (Lexington Books, 2004).
David P. Brockington is Lecturer in Social Science Methods at the University of
Plymouth. He has published recent articles on electoral participation and reform.
Jonathan Burton is Survey Research Off‌icer at the Institute for Social and
Economic Research at the University of Essex. His current research interests cover
aspects of survey methodology such as non-response, attrition and dependent
interviewing.
Sean Carey is Lecturer in the Department of Politics at the University of Sheff‌ield.
His current research interests include studies of public attitudes towards European
integration, economic voting and the stability of partisanship.
Sarah Childs is Lecturer in Politics at the University of Bristol. Her recent publi-
cations include articles on women’s political representation in British politics and
New Labour’s Women MPs (Routledge, 2004).
Moira Dustin is Manager/Researcher at the Equality and Diversity Forum,
London. She is completing a PhD in the Gender Institute, London School of
Economics on the tension between cultural claims and gender equality.
Ewald Engelen is Senior Researcher in the Department of Geography and
Planning at the University of Amsterdam. His recent publications include articles
on corporate governance, pension restructuring and migration issues.
Hillel Frisch is Senior Lecturer in the Departments of Political Studies
and Middle Eastern History, Bar-Ilan University, Israel. His recent publications
include Countdown to Statehood: Palestinian State Formation in the West Bank and Gaza
(SUNY 1998), and articles on Palestinian and Arab politics.
Darren Halpin is Senior Post Doctoral Research Fellow in the Centre for Social
Science Research at Central Queensland University. His research interests include
interest groups, political representation, public policy and farm politics.
Philip Jones is Professor of Economics at the University of Bath. He has published
extensively on public choice issues and political participation. He co-authored
Public Finance and Public Choice (Oxford University Press, 1998, second edition).
