Juries—Ireland
In 2010 the Law Reform Commission of Ireland published a Consultation Paper on
Jury Service (LRC CP 61-2010). Amongst the 56 recommendations in the follow-up
report is a call for empirical research to be carried out on jury representativeness
and juror comprehension and competence.

Access to justice for those with an intellectual disability—Australia
In Victoria the Law Reform Committee has tabled its Final Report about access to
justice for those who have an intellectual disability. The report considers inter alia
competence to give evidence, giving evidence in court (including special
measures), fitness to stand trial, legal representation and difficulties in the
lawyer–client relationship.

Unfitness to plead—United Kingdom
The Law Commission has published its analysis of the responses to its Consul-
tation Paper on the subject of unfitness to plead.
