Admissibility of electronic evidence—South Africa
The South African Law Reform Commission has published an Issue Paper
exploring issues relating to the admissibility of electronic evidence in criminal
and civil proceedings. In the case of criminal proceedings, a particular concern is
the relationship between the hearsay rule and Chapter 3 of the Electronic Commu-
nications Transaction Act 2002.

The vulnerable witness—United Kingdom (Northern Ireland)
The Northern Ireland Law Commission has published a Consultation Paper that
seeks views on whether special protections should be made available for ‘vulner-
able’ witnesses who must testify in civil proceedings.
