NURSES, MIDWIVES AND HEALTH VISITORS
The Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors (Chairman of the Council) (Appointed Day) Order 198521stMay 1985
In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 1(6)(a) of the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979(a), I hereby make the following order:—
Citation
1. This order may be cited as the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors (Chairman of the Council) (Appointed Day) Order 1985.
Appointed Day
2. The day appointed for the purposes of section 1(6)(a) of the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979 (appointment of chairman of the Council) shall be 12th July 1985.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This Note is not part of the Order.)
This Order appoints 12th July 1985 as the appointed day for the purposes of section 1(6)(a) of the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979; from that day the chairman of the United Kingdom Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting will be appointed by the Council itself instead of by the Secretary of State.
