OBITUARY
John Lees, who died tragically on
23
February 1986, was a good friend
to
this
Journal. He belonged
to
the founding editorial group.
As
a
Commissioning Editor
for
American Politics,
his
reputation as a
distinguished scholar prompted a continuing flow
of
contributions.
To
the editorial
group
he was
a
source of acute criticism and immensely
helpful suggestions. As a Commissioning Editor his patience
and
skill
in
advising
and
encouraging authors was exemplary. He will be
much missed as
a
colleague and
a
good companion.
