Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 4 of the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967(a), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

Citation, interpretation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Parliamentary Commissioner Order 1970.

(2) The Interpretation Act 1889(b) applies for the interpretation of this Order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

(3) This Order shall come into operation on 20th October 1970.

Amendment of Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967

2. In Schedule 2 to the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967

(a) there shall be inserted—

(i) after the entry for the Department of Education and Science the entry "Department of Employment"; and

(ii) after the entry for the Ministry of Overseas Development the entry "Office of Population Censuses and Surveys"; and

(b) there shall be omitted the entries for the Department of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Labour, the General Register Office and the Social Survey.
