The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 4(5) of the Patents, Designs and Marks Act 1986 ( a) , is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Patents, Designs and Marks Act 1986 (Amendments to the Registered Designs Act 1949 and the Patents Act 1977) (Isle of Man) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 1st April 1989.

2.-(1) Sections 1 and 3(1) of the Patents, Designs and Marks Act 1986 so far as they relate to the Registered Designs Act 1949 ( b) and the Patents Act 1977 ( c) shall extend to the Isle of Man, subject to the modification specified in paragraph (2) below.

(2) Any reference to the said Act of 1949 or the said Act of 1977, or to a provision thereof, shall be construed as a reference to it as it has effect in the Isle of Man.

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order extends to the Isle of Man, subject to the modification in article 2(2) of this Order, the amendments to the Registered Designs Act 1949 and the Patents Act 1977 made by section 1 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Patents, Designs and Marks Act 1986 and the repeals of provisions in those Acts of 1949 and 1977 made by section 3(1) of, and Schedule 3 to, the Act of 1986.
