Acre Estate, situate in
the Parish of Samt Mary
Lambeth
in the County
of
Surrey,
in Trustees, for letting the same, and
for applying the Produce thereof according to
the Directions of the Vestry of the said Parish.

HEREAS the Parishioners or Inhabitants of the Parish of
Saint Mary
Lambeth
in the County of Surrey have been in
the Possession of an Estate called The
Pediar's
Acre
Estate*
situate near
Westmirtster Bridge
in the said Parish of
Saint
Mary Lambeth,
for upwards of Three hundred Years: And whereas the said Estate was
formerly called
Church
Hoppfs or
Hope,
and was then an Osier Bed or
Hope, and let at a few Shillings
a
Year Rent; but the same having an
extensive Frontage on the River
Thames,
has within the last One hundred
and thirty Years been considerably built upon, and within that Period
Leases thereof have been from Time to Time, by
the
Directions of Vestry,
granted by the Rector and Churchwardens for the Time being of the
said Parish, in consideration of pecuniary or other Premiums, and reserving
considerable annual Rents; and the pecuniary Premiums and annual
Rents have from Time to Time, under the Votes or Orders of Vestry
Meetings of the said Parish, been applied towards the Repairs of the
Parish Church, and in or towards Satisfaction of the Debts or Engage-
ments of Overseers of the Poor on behalf of the said Parish, and for
