The Police Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 1982

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 1, 3 and 4 of the Police Pensions Act 1976(a), and after consultation with the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom, I hereby, with the consent of the Treasury (b), make the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Police Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 1982 and shall come into operation on 1st September 1982.

2. In Regulation 56 of the Police Pensions Regulations 1973(c) there shall be substituted for the words "7%" and "5%" respectively the words "11%" and "8%".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations increase, as from 1st September 1982, the rate of pension contribution payable by a member of a police force, other than an auxiliary policeman (which expression by virtue of Regulation 4(1) of the Police Pensions Regulations 1973 includes certain women members of a police force), in the case of a man from 1p a week less than 7% of his pensionable pay to 1p a week less than 11% of his pensionable pay and in the case of a woman from 1p a week less than...
