PILOTAGE

The Port of Larne (Pilotage Functions) Order 2002

Made 9th December 2002

Laid before Parliament 10th December 2002

Coming into force 31th December 2002

Whereas Larne Harbour Limited is a harbour authority within the meaning of the Pilotage Act 19871(“the 1987 Act”) for the port of Larne but is not a competent harbour authority within the meaning of the 1987 Act;

And whereas Larne Harbour Limited has applied to be treated as a competent harbour authority for the purposes of the 1987 Act;

And whereas the Secretary of State has informed the persons he considers may be affected by the Order, in accordance with section 1(7) of the 1987 Act;

And whereas no objection has been made to the making of this Order;

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(4) of the 1987 Act, hereby makes the following Order:

1. This order may be cited as the Port of Larne (Pilotage Functions) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 31st December 2002.

2. Larne Harbour Limited shall be a competent harbour authority for the purposes of the Pilotage Act 1987.

This Order provides that Larne Harbour Limited is to be a competent harbour authority for the port of Larne for the purposes of the Pilotage Act 1987.

The applicant for the Order is Larne Harbour Limited which is a company registered in Northern Ireland having its registered office at 9 Olderfleet Road, Larne, Northern Ireland, BT40 1AS.
