The Post Office Act 1969 (Appointed Day) Order 1969

At the Court at Arundel Park, the 31st day of July 1969

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Whereas by subsection (1) of section 1 of the Post Office Act 1969(a) (hereinafter referred to as "the Act") it is provided that on such day as Her Majesty may by Order in Council appoint for the purposes of the Act (in the Act referred to as "the appointed day") the office of master of the Post Office shall cease to exist:

Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of subsection (1) of the said section 1, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

1. The appointed day for the purposes of the Act shall be 1st October 1969.

2. This Order may be cited as the Post Office Act 1969 (Appointed Day) Order 1969.
