Directory of bereavement services
The national charities Help the Hospices and Cruse Bereavement Care have jointly
produced The Directory of Bereavement Services in the UK 2007. The Directory is
a comprehensive resource for bereavement services and a practical source of
information aimed at both professionals working with bereaved people and the
general public. The Directory covers the whole of the UK and listings are arranged
alphabetically by country and region. The Directory indicates whether services are
suitable for adults or children and where the service is available e.g. in people’s
homes or elsewhere. Also included is information about organizations which offer
advice and information on a range of issues which may be useful for bereaved
people, their families or their employers. Copies are available for £25 each (inc

The Prisons Handbook
The Prisons Handbook 2007 is an 840 page annual guide to prisons in England
and Wales. It provides information about every prison and YOI in the country,
each entry includes details of its key off‌icials and contact information, in addition
to accommodation, work, training, education, healthcare, visiting, religious and
catering facilities as well as its latest inspection report. Other sections include infor-
mation on legislation and prison rules; advice services, professional and support
agencies; and comprehensive advice information spanning reception right the way
