BLACKSTONE'S
LAW
OF

INDEX:
CASE
PRECEDENTS
1900-1997

This
new
digest
of
cases
published
by Blackstone Press is a
strange
creature
indeed.
Imagine:
Standing
before
the
court,
away
from
law
reports
and
legal
periodicals
practitioners
would
at
such
times
undoubtedly
find
aone-stop, single-volume
index
relevant
to
the
subject
area
being
litigated,
detailing
the
location
and
content
of
many
thousands
of
cases
and
drawn
from
avery
wide
array
of
sources
to be
of
real usefulness. Of
course
such
an
index
would
also be
of
enormous
benefit
back
in
the
office.
It
would
in
asingle
self-contained
book
provide lawyers
with
acost-effective,
hassle-free, easy-to-use
means
of
accessing in
their
particular
subject
area
many
thousands
of
cases
in
many
thousands
of
law
report
and
law
journal
volumes
and
so
open
up
a
whole
new
world
of
precedents
for
them
to call
in
aid
when
seeking
to
buttress
whatever
case
they
are
called
upon
to
make.
And
with
lawyers
working
ever
longer
hours,
many
of
them
at
home,
such
a
reference
work
that
gave
immediate
access to
thousands
of
cases
would
be
of
considerable
help
there
too. Such a
reference
work
now
exists.
If
readers
are
thinking
this
sounds
too
good to be
true,
they
would
be
right.
At first
blush,
the
Law of
Evidence
Index looks like an impressive
publication.
Available
on
