The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations 2000

Made 26th May 2000

Laid before Parliament 31th May 2000

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 41(1), (2) and (5) of the Road Traffic Act 19881and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 195(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force for the purposes of regulations 2 and 3 on 1st August 2000 and for all other purposes on 1st October 2000.

2. The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 19862shall be further amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.

S-3 In Schedule 7B, in paragraph 7 for sub-paragraph (b) there...

3. In Schedule 7B, in paragraph 7 for sub-paragraph (b) there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraph—

“(b)

“(b) “the emissions publication” is the publication entitled “In-Service Exhaust Emission Standards for Road Vehicles—Sixth Edition” (ISBN 0-9526457-5-0) published by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions.”

S-4 In Schedule 7B, in paragraph 8, for the words “with free...

4.—(1) In Schedule 7B, in paragraph 8, for the words “with free acceleration” there shall be substituted the words “when tested in accordance with point 8.2.2. of Annex II of Council Directive 96/96/EC3as replaced by Article 1 of Commission Directive 1999/52/EC4.

(2) In Schedule 7B, in paragraph 9, in sub-paragraph (a) the word “; and” and sub-paragraph (b) shall be deleted.
