HEREAS
that Part of the United Kingdom called
Iretand
abounds in Copper, Lead, Iron, Coals, and other Minerals,
W
Metals, and Metallic Substances, and also in Cobalt, Manga-
nese, Jasper, Porphyry, Marble, Granite, Slate, Steatite, Gypsum, Fuller’s
Earth, Sulphur, Potter’s Clay, and other Matters
and
Products
:
And
whereas the several Mines, Mine Works, Quarries,
Pits,
Holes, Beds,
Veins, and other Bearings
of
Mines, Ore, Copper,
Lead,
Iron, Coal,
Metals, and Minerals, and other Matters and Products as aforesaid, have
not been sufficiently worked for want
of
a
sufficient Capital
for
that Pur-
pose: And whereas it would be
of
great public Advantage and Utility,
and it would be highly beneficial to that Part
of
the
said United
King-
dom
called
Ireland
generally, and particularly
to
the labouring Classes
thereof, that a Joint Stock Company should
be
established for the Purpose
of working such Mines, Mine Works, Quarries, Pits, Holes,
Beds,
Veins,
and
other Bearings
of
Mines, Ore, Copper,
Lead,
Iron,
Coal,
and other
[Local.

chantable such Lead, Iron, Coal, and other Minerals, Metals, and Metallic
Substances, and also Cobalt, Manganese, Jasper, Aeethyst, Porphyry,Mar-

are wiIling and desirous, at their own Costs and Charges,

effect

ditions and Restrictions herein-after set forth, be possessed of any Part
of
the said Joint Stock, their several
and
respective Executors, Ad-
ministrators, and Assigns,
so
lodg
as
they
shall
hold the same, and
no
longer

and they and their Executors, Administrators, ,and

Shares in the said Stock
As
aforesaid, shall have full
Power and Authority, from Time to Time, and
at
all Times
herafter,
to
search for and
work
all
such Mines and Mine Works, Quarries, Pits,
Holes, Beds, Veins, and other Bearings of Mines, Ore, Coal, and other
Minerals and Metals,
and
Metallic Substances, and all other Ibhters
and Products in that Part
of
the United Kingdom
of
Great Britain
and
Ireland
called
IreZand
as aforesaid,

they shall contiiack fM,
take an Lease, or hold
or
possess, under or
by
virtue of this Act, md %or
the Purposes aforesaid,
to
dig, sink, delve, drive, mrk, and make a11 or
any
Pits,
Shafts, Adits, Levels, Soughs, Tunnels, and other Workibgs
as
the said Company shall think necessary and proper, and
to
make, erect,
and
use
any Machinery, Steam, or other Engines, Windlasses,
Whims,
Ropes, Ladders,
Tools,
Tackle, Materials, and other Conveniences, and
for the due and complete working
of
any such Mines, Mine
WOT~S,
Quarries, Pits, Holes, Beds, Veins,
or
other Bearings of Mines,

.and other Minerals and Metals,. and Metallic Substances,

any
other Matters and Products as aforesaid, and
to
dig
and
raise
Clay
for
making and burning of Bricks, Tiles, Gutters,
and
Ridges, or any
bther Matters, and

erect and build

Erections or Buildings which
shell
be
reqsite
for the Purposes herein mentioned, and
to
make, burn,
ad
eonvert
Coal
and
Culm into Charcoal or Coke
;
and also
to
make and

all-mnvenient
Ways,
Roads,
and
Railways for the Use
of
any
Mine
