The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of Her powers under sections 5 and 7 of the West Indies Act 1962(a), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

Citation, construction and commencement.

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Saint Vincent Constitution construction (Amendment No. 3) Order 1967, and shall be included among the Orders that may be cited together as the Saint Vincent Constitution Order 1959 to 1967.

(2) This Order shall be construed as one with the Saint Vincent (Constitution) Order in Council 1959(b), as amended by the West Indies (Dissolution and Interim Commissioner) Order in Council 1962(c), the Saint Vincent Constitution (Amendment) Order 1967(d) and the Saint Vincent Constitution (Amendment No. 2) Order 1967(e), (hereinafter called "the principal Order").

(3) This Order shall come into operation on 13th April 1967.

Dissolution of Executive Council, suspension of provisions relating thereto and temporary provisions relating to Administrator's functions.

2.—(1) The Executive Council constituted at the commencement of this Order in accordance with the provisions of the principal Order is hereby dissolved.

(2) Without prejudice to anything previously done thereunder and until such day (being after the holding of the poll in the general election of elected members of the Legislative Council next following the commencement of this Order) as the Administrator may appoint by proclamation published in the Gazette—

(a) the operation of sections 12 to 21 of the principal Order is suspended;

(b) the operation of subsections (1) to (5) of section 6 of the principal Order and, to the extent that it requires the Administrator in the exercise of any function to act in accordance with the advice of,

(a) 1962 c. 19.

(b) S.I. 1959/2201 (1959 I, p. 479).

(c) S.I. 1962/1084 (1962 II, p. 1220).

(d) S.I. 1967/232 (1967 I, p. 749).

(e) S.I. 1967/547 (1967 I, p. 1764).

or after consultation with, the Executive Council or any Minister, of any other provision of that Order or of any other law in force in Saint Vincent is suspended; and

(c) any provision of any such law that confers any power or imposes any duty upon the Administrator in Council, the Executive Council or any Minister shall be construed as if it conferred that power or imposed that duty upon the...
