An Act for more effectually repairing the Road
from the Town and Port of Sandwich in the
County of Kent, to the Towns of Margate and
Ramsgate in the Isle of Thanet in the said
County; and for reducing for a limited Time
the Tolls and Duties payable at
Sandwich
Bridge.

HEREAS an Act was passed in the Forty-seventh Year of
the Reign of His late Majesty King George,the Third,
intituled An Jet for amending, altering, widening, and47G..3..
keeping in repair the Road Jrom the Town and Port of Sandwich in Sess.i.c.,22.
the County
of'Kent, to the
respective
Towns of Margate and Ramsgate
in the Isle of Thanet in the said
County
; and for redwing for a
limited Time the Tolls and Duties now payable at Sandwich Bridge
by virtue of an Act passed in the Twenty-eighth Year of His late
Majesty: And whereas the Trustees appointed in or by virtue of the
said Act passed in the Forty-seventh Year of the Reign of His said
late Majesty King George the Third have proceeded to put the same
into Execution, and have for that Purpose borrowed considerable
Sums of Money on the Credit of the Tolls thereby granted, which
Sums of Money still remain due and owing, and cannot be repaid,
nor can the said Road be effectually amended, improved, and kept in
