SCHEDULE OF STANDARD CHARGES.(a) DATED JULY 6, 1927.[This Schedule (S.R. & O. 1927, p. 1245) is printed as amended by Orders, dated November 18, 1929 (S.R. & O. 1929 (No. 1231) p. 1194) and November 12, 1935 (S.R. & O. 1935 (No. 1158) p. 1457).]

Whereas pursuant to the provisions of Section 30 of the Railways Act, 1921, the Southern Railway Company have submitted to us in the prescribed form, a Schedule of the Standard Charges, proposed to be made by the said Southern Railway Company according to the Classification fixed under the provisions of the said Act, showing in the said Schedule the rates for the conveyance of merchandise, the amounts of terminal charges, and the fares for the conveyance of passengers and their luggage:
And whereas we caused notice of the lodgment of the said Schedule to be duly published and prescribed the time and the manner in which any objection thereto might be lodged:
And whereas we have considered the said Schedule and all objections lodged thereto, and have in open Court heard all parties interested and who desired to be heard:
And whereas we have adjusted the powers of charging to revenue as required by Section 58 of the said Act:
Now we, the Railway Rates Tribunal, in pursuance of the powers vested in us under the Railways Act, 1921, do hereby settle the Schedule of Charges hereto annexed in accordance with the provisions of the said Act.
And we appoint the first day of January, 1928, as the day when the same shall come into operation.

GENERAL PROVISIONS.
The Scales of Charges specified in this Schedule in respect of Merchandise shall be subject to the Classification of Merchandise for conveyance by Railway determined by the Rates Advisory Committee and to the regulations and provisions set forth in such classification and in this Schedule.
The Scales of Charges contained in this Schedule are the Standard Charges which the Railway Company are authorised to make in respect of the services and accommodation to which Standard Charges are applicable. Nothing contained in this Schedule precludes the Railway Company from making such other charges as they are by law entitled to make.
