ANNOUNCEMENT
Scottish Economic Society Seminars
A
Committee has recently been formed under the auspices of the Scottish
Economic Society to organise
a
series of seminars on current economic topics
for practical economists working in Scotland. One of the aims of the Scottish
Economic Society is to stimulate public discussion of these matters. The
Committee is broadly based and includes representatives from finance,
industry, government and research organisations.
A
programme of four
monthly seminars to be held from January to April 1977 has been arranged
and appears below. It is hoped to hold a similar series in the winter months
each year.
Membership of the seminars will be institutional; each subscription (&10.00
for January to April 1977) will entitle the institution to send two participants
to meetings, which will alternate between Glasgow and Edinburgh, from
6 p.m. to
8
p.m. Coffee will be provided at the beginning of each meeting.
The Committee hopes that organisations will take out one or more sub-
scriptions for the current series. Applications should be addressed to
