CHAPTER xc.
An Act to make provision for the more effectual
A.D.
1899.
execution of the office of Justice of the Peace in South
Staffordshire. [13th July 1899.]
HEREAS an Act was passed in the ninth and tenth years of
9 & 10
Vict.
the reign of Her present Majesty intituled " An Act to c" xv'
provide for the more effectual execution of the office of a justice
of the peace and the better administration of the police within
the borough of Wolverhampton and certain parishes and places
in the neighbourhood thereof all in the county of Stafford" (in
this Act called " the Act of 1846 ") :
And whereas it is expedient to repeal the Act of 1846 and to
re-enact certain of the provisions thereof with amendments and in
other respects to make further provision for the execution of the
office of a justice of the peace within the limits of this Act :
And whereas the objects of this Act cannot be effected without
the authority of Parliament:
May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted and
be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty by and
with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal
and Commons in this present Parliament assembled and by the
authority of the same as follows :

This Act may be cited as the South Staffordsliire Stipendiary Citation of
Justice Act 1899. Act-
2.
This Act shall come into operation on the twenty-ninth day Oommence-
of September one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine which lnent of Act
date is in tliis Act referred to as " the commencement of this Act"
Provided that for the following purposes the same shall come into
operation upon its passing (namely) For the purpose of appointing
commissioners under this Act for the purpose of meetings of
commissioners and for the purpose of appointment of officers.
