An Act for making certain new Lines of Railway
in connexion with the South Wales Railway, and
certain Alterations in the Line of the said Rail-
way ; and for other Purposes. [2d July 1847.]
HEREAS an Act was passed in the Session of Parliament
held in the Eighth and Ninth Years of the Reign of Her 8&9Vict.
present Majesty, called "The South Wales Railway Act, c.190.
1845,"
whereby certain Persons were incorporated under the Name
or Style of "The South Wales Railway Company:" And whereas
an Act was passed in the last Session of Parliament, intituled An Act 9&ioVict,
for extending the Line of the South Wales Railway, and for making

certain Alterations of the said Railway, and certain Branch Railways
in connexion therewith : And whereas it is expedient that further
Alterations should be made in the Line of the South Wales Railway
as authorized by the said first-recited Act: And whereas it would
be attended with public and local Advantage if certain Railways
were made in connexion with the South Wales Railway, one thereof
to connect the Forest of Dean Branch of the Monmouth and Here-
ford Railway at or near Whimsey Pit in the Township of East Dean
in the County of Gloucester with the Line of the Gloucester and
Forest of Dean Railway in the Parish of Newnham in the same
