The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in him under the Destructive Insects and Pests Acts, 1877 to 1927(a) and of every other power enabling him in this behalf, orders as follows:—

Short Title, Commencement and Construction

1. This Order may be cited as the Sugar Beet Eelworm (Amendment) Order, 1950, and shall come into operation on the fourth day of August nineteen hundred and fifty, and shall be read as one with the Sugar Beet Eelworm Order, 1943(b) (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Order") and the principal Order and this Order may be cited together as the Sugar Beet Eelworm Orders, 1943 and 1950.

Amendment of the principal Order

2. The principal Order shall have effect as if after Article 5 thereof there were added the following Article:—

"Suspected Land

5A. Where any person occupies or is in charge of any land (hereinafter referred to as "the suspected land") in the same field or the same enclosure as other land in which sugar beet eelworm is known to exist, the Committee may by notice in writing served on him require him to comply in respect of the suspected land with the provisions of this Order and the suspected land shall for the purposes of this Order be deemed to be land in which sugar beet eelworm is known to exist."

In Witness whereof the Official Seal of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries is hereunto affixed this twenty-seventh day of July nineteen hundred and fifty.
