An
Act
to
empower the Surrey County Council
to A.D. 1938.
purchase lands compulsorily
to
confirm an agree-
ment between the said County Council and the
Carshalton Urban District Council
to
empower
the said urban district council
to
use lands
for
cemetery purposes
to
empower the said County
Council
to
borrow money and
for
other purposes.

HEREAS the county council of the adminis-
w
trative county of Surrey (hereinafter called
"
the
County Council
")
have prepared
a
scheme
for
the
erection of
a
laundry for the purposes of several of their
hospitals and institutions
:
And whereas
it
is
essential that the laundry
should be in the north-eastern part of the county:
And whereas the urban district council of
Carshalton (hereinafter referred to
as
"
the district
council
")
many years ago acquired certain lands (herein-
after referred to
as
"
the existing site
")
within their
district for cemetery purposes and erected fences around
the existing site and posted
a
notice signifying that the
existing site was the site of an intended cemetery but
the district council have not yet used the existing site
for the purposes of
a
cemetery and provided other
lands are conveyed to them which they will be entitled
to
