In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 81(1) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1962(a), (inserted by that Act by section 15 of the Education (Scotland) Act 1969(b)), and by section 144(5) of the said Act of 1962, and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following regulations:—

Citation, construction and commencement

1. These regulations, which may be cited as the Teachers (Colleges of Education) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1969, shall be read as one with the Teachers (Colleges of Education) (Scotland) Regulations 1967(c) (hereinafter referred to as the "principal regulations") and shall come into operation on 3rd November 1969.

Amendment of the principal regulations

2. The following amendments shall be made in Schedule 1 to the principal regulations:—

(a) For paragraph 1(8) there shall be substituted—

"(8) 4 persons appointed by the Secretary of State."

(b) For paragraph 2(9) there shall be substituted—

"(9) 3 persons appointed by the Secretary of State."

(c) For paragraph 3(9) there shall be substituted—

"(9) 3 persons appointed by the Secretary of State."

(d) For paragraph 4(9) there shall be substituted—

"(9) 3 persons appointed by the Secretary of State, of whom at least one shall be a member of the Roman Catholic Church."

(e) For paragraph 5(8) there shall be substituted—

"(8) 4 persons appointed by the Secretary of State."

(f) For paragraph 6(12) there shall be substituted—

"(12) 3 persons appointed by the Secretary of State."

(g) For paragraph 7(9) there shall be substituted—

"(9) 3 persons appointed by the Secretary of State."

(h) For paragraph 8(9) there shall be substituted—

"(9) 4 persons appointed by the Secretary of State."

(i) For paragraph 9(9) there shall be substituted—

"(9) 4 persons appointed by the Secretary of State."

(j) For paragraph 10(9) there shall be substituted—

"(9) 3 persons appointed by the Secretary of State, of whom at least one shall be a member of the Roman Catholic Church."
