The Welsh Ministers, being the traffic authority for the relevant length of the A55 London to Holyhead Trunk Road, are satisfied that traffic on specified lengths of the trunk road should be prohibited because of works proposed on or near the road.

The Welsh Ministers, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 14(1) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984( 1), make this Order.

Title, Interpretation and Commencement

1. This Order comes into force on 9 October 2017 and its title is The A55 Trunk Road (Eastbound Entry Slip Roads at Junction 4 (Dalar Hir) & Junction 6 (Nant Turnpike), Isle of Anglesey) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles) Order 2017.

2.—(1) In this Order:

“the trunk road”(“y gefnffordd”) means the A55 London to Holyhead trunk road on the Isle of Anglesey;

“works period”(“cyfnod y gwaith”) means the period commencing at 20:00 hours on 9 October 2017 and ending when the temporary traffic signs are permanently removed.

(2) Any reference in this Order to a numbered article is a reference to the article bearing that number in this Order.

Prohibition

3. No person shall, during the works period, drive or cause or permit any vehicle to be driven on the lengths of the eastbound entry slip roads of the trunk road at Junction 4 (Dalar Hir) and Junction 6 (Nant Turnpike).

Application

4. The prohibition in article 3 applies only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs.

Duration of this Order

5. The maximum duration for this Order shall be 12 months.
