The Welsh Ministers, as traffic authority for the A55 Trunk Road, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 1(1), 2(1) and 2(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984( 1) and after consultation with the Chief Officer of the North Wales Police, hereby make the following Order.

Title, Commencement and Interpretation

1. The title of this Order is the A55 Trunk Road (Junction 12 (Talybont) to Junction 13 (Abergwyngregyn), Gwynedd) (Closure of Central Reservation Crossings) Order 2020 and it comes into force on 16 March 2020.

2. In this Order:

“central reservation” has the meaning given to “central reservation” in Schedule 1 of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

“the trunk road”(“y gefnffordd”) means the A55 Chester to Bangor Trunk Road.

Prohibition of Entry

3. No person may cause or permit any motor vehicle proceeding in either the westbound or eastbound carriageway of the trunk road to enter the opposite carriageway through the central reservation crossings of that length of the trunk road between Junction 12 (Talybont) and Junction 13 (Abergwyngregyn) in the County of Gwynedd.
