The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Bramham Park) Regulations 2024

The Secretary of State has decided that it is necessary in the public interest to restrict the flying of unmanned aircraft in the area specified in regulation 3(1) by reason of the intended gathering there of a large number of persons.
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016(a).
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Bramham
Park) Regulations 2024 and they come into force on 21st August 2024.
Interpretation
2. In regulation 3(1) the times referred to are Co-ordinated Universal Time(b).
Restricted airspace
3.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), between 1100 hours on 21st August 2024 and 1600 hours on
28th August 2024 no unmanned aircraft is to fly below 2,000 feet above mean sea level within the
area bounded by straight lines joining successively the following points—
(a) 535109N 0012314W,
(b) 535145N 0012347W,
(c) 535140N 0012354W,
(d) 535150N 0012404W,
(e) 535146N 0012421W,
(f) 535150N 0012425W,
(g) 535200N 0012348W,
(h) 535215N 0012342W,
(i) 535246N 0012249W,
(a) S.I. 2016/765, to which there are amendments not relevant to these Regulations.
(b) Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) is one hour behind British Summer Time (BST).
(j) 535247N 0012150W,
(k) 535228N 0012156W,
(l) 535218N 0012127W,
(m) 535118N 0012113W, and
(n) 535109N 0012314W.
(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply to any unmanned aircraft flying in accordance with a
permission issued by the event Airspace Co-ordinator.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations impose restrictions on the flying of unmanned aircraft in the vicinity of
Bramham Park, Wetherby, West Yorkshire by reason of the large number of persons expected to
attend the Leeds Festival which is due to take place at the Park between 21st August 2024 and
28th August 2024 (inclusive).
The Civil Aviation Authority and the Department for Transport agree that the flying of unmanned
aircraft should be restricted in the vicinity of the event location for reasons of public safety.
