The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Dunsfold) Regulations 2019

The Secretary of State has decided that it is necessary in the public interest to restrict flying in the vicinity of Dunsfold, Surrey, by reason of the intended holding of rehearsals and flying displays associated with the Dunsfold Wings and Wheels 2019 event.

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016(1).

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Dunsfold) Regulations 2019 and come into force on 14th June 2019.

Interpretation

2. In regulation 3(2) the times referred to are Co-ordinated Universal Time(2).

Restricted airspace

3.—(1) Subject to paragraph (3), and during the periods specified in paragraph (2), no aircraft is to fly—

(a) below 2,500 feet above mean sea level within the area bounded by—

(i) an anticlockwise arc of a circle having a radius of 12 nautical miles whose centre is at 510853N 0001125W, from 510949N 0003025W to 510440N 0002914W, and

(ii) a clockwise arc of a circle having a radius of 3 nautical miles whose centre is at 510702N 0003209W, from 510440N 0002914W to 510949N 0003025W, or

(b) below 1,500 feet above mean sea level within the area bounded by—

(i) a clockwise arc of a circle having a radius of 3 nautical miles whose centre is at 510702N 0003209W, from 510949N 0003025W to 510440N 0002914W, and

(ii) a clockwise arc of a circle having a radius of 12 nautical miles whose centre is at 510853N 0001125W, from 510440N 0002914W to 510949N 0003025W.

(2) The periods referred to in paragraph (1) are—

(a) between 1100 hours and 1700 hours on 14th June 2019, and

(b) between 0900 hours and 1730 hours on 15th and 16th June 2019.

(3) Paragraph (1) does not apply to any aircraft flying in accordance with a permission issued by the Dunsfold Wings and Wheels flying display director.
