The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Portsmouth and the Solent) (No. 2) (Revocation) Regulations 2017

Coming into force with immediate effect

The Secretary of State has decided that it is necessary in the public interest to restrict flying in the vicinity of Portsmouth and the Solent by reason of the intended departure from Her Majesty's Naval Base Portsmouth of the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier.

The sailing of the ship having now been cancelled, the Secretary of State no longer deems it necessary in the public interest to restrict flying in that area and makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016( 1).

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Portsmouth and the Solent) (No. 2) (Revocation) Regulations 2017 and come into force with immediate effect.

Revocation of Regulations

2. The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Portsmouth and the Solent) (No. 2) Regulations 2017( 2) are revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations revoke the instrument which imposed restrictions on flying in airspace in the vicinity of Portsmouth and the Solent as a result of the sailing of the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier having been cancelled.
