CHARITIES

The Charities (Designated Religious Bodies) (Scotland) Order 2005

Made 6th June 2005

Laid before the Scottish Parliament 7th June 2005

Coming into force 1st July 2005

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(1) of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 19901, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

S-1 Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Charities (Designated Religious Bodies) (Scotland) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 1st July 2005.

2. For the purposes of section 3 of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990, the Scottish Ministers hereby designate the United Free Church of Scotland as a recognised body.

(This note is not part of the Order)

By this Order, the Scottish Ministers designate for the purposes of section 3 of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990, the United Free Church of Scotland as a recognised body as it appears to them to meet the criteria set out in that section (designated religious bodies).


(1) 1990 c. 40. The functions of the Secretary of State were transferred to the Scottish Ministers by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c. 46).
