The Cherwell (Electoral Changes) Order 2019
Made 25th February 2019
Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2),(3) and (4)
Under section 92(2) of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 20071, Cherwell District Council (“the Council”) made recommendations in a review to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England2for the related alteration of the boundaries of a district ward and a county electoral division within the Council’s area.
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has decided to give effect to the recommendations and makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 92(3) of that Act.
Citation and commencement
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Cherwell (Electoral Changes) Order 2019.
(2) This article and article 2 come into force on the day after the day on which this Order is made.
(3) Article 3 comes into force—
(a)
(a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after the day on which this Order is made;
(b)
(b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in England3in 2019.
(4) Article 4 comes into force—
(a)
(a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after the day on which this Order is made;
(b)
(b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in England in 2021.
Interpretation
2. In this Order “the 2018 Order” means the Cherwell District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order 20184.
Alteration of district ward boundary
3. The area that ceases to be part of the parish of Ambrosden and becomes part of the parish of Chesterton in consequence of the 2018 Order, ceases to be part of the Bicester South & Ambrosden district ward and becomes part of the Fringford & Heyfords district ward.
Alteration of county electoral division boundary
4. The area that ceases to be part of the parish of Ambrosden and becomes part of the parish of Chesterton in consequence of the 2018 Order, ceases to be part of the Otmoor county electoral division and becomes part of the Ploughley county electoral division.
