The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2010

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 24(4)(b) and 27(1) of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 20071, makes the following Order:

S-1 Citation

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2010.

S-2 Provisions coming into force on 15th February 2010

Provisions coming into force on 15th February 2010

2. Section 10 of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 (power to order conviction etc to be publicised) shall come into force on 15th February 2010.

S-3 Transitional provision

Transitional provision

3. The provisions coming into force by virtue of article 2 shall not have effect in relation to an offence of corporate manslaughter or corporate homicide committed before 15th February 2010.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 15th February 2010 section 10 of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 (c. 19)(power to order conviction etc to be publicised). It also provides that section 10 has no effect in relation to an offence under that Act committed before that date, so no publicity order may be made in relation to a person convicted of such an offence.
