The Discharge of Fines by Unpaid Work (Pilot Schemes) Order 2004

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 97(5) of the Courts Act 20031hereby makes the following Order:

S-1 This Order may be cited as the Discharge of Fines by Unpaid...

1. This Order may be cited as the Discharge of Fines by Unpaid Work (Pilot Schemes) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 21st September 2004.

S-2 Schedule 6 to the Courts Act 2003 (Discharge of Fines by Unpaid...

2. Schedule 6 to the Courts Act 2003 (Discharge of Fines by Unpaid Work) is to have effect in relation to the petty sessions areas2specified in the Schedule to this Order for the period beginning on 21st September 2004 and ending on 31st March 2005.

Petty Sessions Areas in South Yorkshire:

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order specifies the petty sessions areas in which the provisions of Schedule 6 (Discharge of Fines by Unpaid Work) to the Courts Act 2003 (c. 39)will be piloted. It also specifies the period of the pilot.


(2) In accordance with paragraph 15(2) of Schedule 9 to the Courts Act 2003, section 97 has effect as if any reference to a local justice area were a reference to a petty sessions area, pending the coming into force of section 8 of that Act.
