This report is based on complaints received by the Egyptian Organization for
Human
Rights throughout the year 1994, as well as on information gathered by its fieldwork unit
during fact-finding missions and by its lawyers during visits to prisons and missions to the
country's most troubled areas. The report consists
of
three main parts. The first part deals
with legislation, judicial rulings and procedures related to human rights. Part two monitors
various violations
of
civil and political rights which took place in Egypt during 1994,
whether by the government or by non-governmental entities. The last part reviews the
activities
of
the
EOHR
regarding the monitoring, observance and defence
of
human rights,
as well as the consolidation and promotion
of
human rights awareness in Egypt.

technological, cultural and organizational capabilities as well as conventional economic
resources.

the book give examples
of
how such 'resources' can
be effectively mobilized for children, including in the areas
of
education, health, nutrition
and protection from exploitation.
