[364] the king against the churchwardens of st petebs, thetford. Wednesday, June 19th, 1793. Mandamus to the churchwardens to make a church rate refused, it being a subject of ecclesiastical jurisdiction. [4 M. & S. 250.] Bower moved for a mandamus to the defendants to make a rate for the repairs of the church of this parish. He admitted that, in general, the rate should be made by the churchwardens and inhabitants at a vestry, but said that the former alone might make a church rate, if the latter refused ; 1 Vent. 367.
