The Motor Cycles Etc. (Single Vehicle Approval) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2007

The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 61(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Act 19881, and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 19882.

In accordance with section 195(2) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 he has consulted with such representative organisations as he thinks fit.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Cycles Etc. (Single Vehicle Approval) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and shall come into force on 1st April 2007.

2.—(1) The Motor Cycles Etc. (Single Vehicle Approval) (Fees) Regulations 20033shall be amended as follows.

(2) In the regulations specified in column (1) of the Table below, for the amounts specified in column (2) there shall be substituted the amounts specified in column (3).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Motor Cycles Etc. (Single Vehicle Approval) (Fees) Regulations 2003 (“the 2003 Regulations”). Those Regulations prescribe the fees which are payable in connection with applications for a Minister’s Approval Certificate and appeals under the Motor Cycles Etc. (Single Vehicle Approval) Regulations 2003 (“the Approval Regulations”). The Approval Regulations allow motor cycles, mopeds and other specified vehicles to be approved in terms of their design, construction, equipment and marking.

Regulation 2(2) increases the fees prescribed by the 2003 Regulations. The increased fees are set out in the Table below (with the percentage increase since the fees were last fixed shown in brackets).
