The Police Pensions (Additional Voluntary Contributions) (Amendment) Regulations 2003

The Secretary of State, with the consent of the Treasury1, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 1 to 7 of the Police Pensions Act 19762, and after taking into consideration the recommendations of the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom and supplying that Board with a draft of these Regulations in accordance with section 62(1) of the Police Act 19963, hereby makes the following Regulations:

S-1 Citation, commencement and extent

Citation, commencement and extent

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Police Pensions (Additional Voluntary Contributions) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 15th November 2003.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

S-2 Amendments to the Police Pensions (Additional Voluntary Contributions) Regulations 1991

Amendments to the Police Pensions (Additional Voluntary Contributions) Regulations 1991

2.—(1) Regulation 17 of the Police Pensions (Additional Voluntary Contributions) Regulations 19914shall be amended as follows.

(2) In paragraph (1)(a) for the words “within the meaning of the Police Act 1964” there shall be substituted “maintained under section 2 of the Police Act 1996, the metropolitan police force, the City of London police, the Director General of the National Crime Squad, the Director General of the National Criminal Intelligence Service, a police member of the National Crime Squad appointed under section 55(1)(b) of the Police Act 19975or a police member of the National Criminal Intelligence Service appointed under section 9(1)(b) of the Police Act 19976”.

These Regulations amend regulation 17 of the Police Pensions (Additional Voluntary Contributions) Regulations 1991 to update a statutory reference and provide that any appeals under those Regulations by the Director General of the National Crime Squad, a police member of that Squad, the Director General of the National Criminal Intelligence Service or a police member of that Service...
