The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by
section 3(2)(a) of the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003(a) and all
other powers enabling them to do so.
In accordance with section 18(4) of that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before and
approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament.
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act
2003 (Amendment of Specified Authorities) Order 2008 and comes into force on the day after the
day on which it is made.
Amendment of the list of specified authorities
2.—(1) Schedule 2 to the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 (the
specified authorities)(b) is amended in accordance with the following paragraphs.
(2) In the listing of the specified authorities, under the heading “Executive bodies”–
(a) insert, at the appropriate places–
(i) “Quality Meat Scotland”; and
(ii) “The Skills Development Scotland Co. Limited”;
(b) at the end of “any National Park authority” insert “(except in respect of nominated
members, as defined in paragraph 3(7) of schedule 1 to the National Parks (Scotland) Act
2000(c))”; and
(c) omit “Scottish Hospital Endowments Research Trust”.
(3) In that listing, under the heading “Advisory bodies”–
(a) insert, at the appropriate place, “Scottish Local Authorities Remuneration Committee”;
and
(b) omit “Scottish Advisory Committee on the Medical Workforce”.
