(1) These Regulations may be cited as the School Admissions (Appeals Arrangements) (England) Regulations 2012 and come into force on 1st February 2012.(2) These Regulations apply in relation to maintained schools in England.

  • An appeal pursuant to arrangements made by a local authority or governing body of a foundation or voluntary aided school under section 94 or a local authority under section 95 of SSFA 1998 is to an appeal panel constituted in accordance with the relevant paragraphs of
  • (1) For the purpose of the payment of financial loss allowance under section 173(4) of the 1972 Act (2) Section 174(1) of the 1972 Act
  • Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 has effect in relation to an appeal pursuant to arrangements made by a local authority or governing body of a foundation or voluntary aided school under section 94 or a local authority under section 95 of SSFA 1998 where the appeal in person reason of the coronavirus exception applies.
  • (1) Paragraphs 3 and 4 of Schedule 2 have effect for the purposes of determining the timetable in respect of an appeal pursuant to arrangements made by a local authority or governing body of a foundation or voluntary aided school under section 94 of SSFA 1998.(2) Paragraph 5 of Schedule 2 has effect for the purposes of determining the timetable in relation to an appeal pursuant to arrangements made by a local authority under section 95 of SSFA 1998.(A1) Paragraphs 1(1) and (2) apply subject to paragraph 1 of Schedule 2.persons who are eligible to be lay members, andpersons who have experience in education, are acquainted with educational conditions in the area of the authority or are parents of registered pupils at a school.at least one must be a person who is eligible to be a lay member and is appointed as such; andat least one must be a person falling with sub-paragraph (1) (b) .For the purposes of this paragraph a person is eligible to be a lay member if that person has no personal experience in the management of any school or the provision of education in any school (disregarding any such experience as a governor or in any other voluntary capacity) .No person may be a member of an appeal panel if that person is disqualified by paragraph 4.In this paragraph, “registered pupil” has the meaning in section 434(5) of the Education Act 1996 .a governing body of a foundation or voluntary aided school and one or more governing bodies of other foundation or voluntary aided schools maintained by the same local authority;a local authority and one or more governing bodies of foundation or voluntary aided schools maintained by that authority.paragraph 1 applies as if any reference to the governing body were a reference to
