Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Under Article 41 of the Charter of the United Nations, the Security Council of the United Nations has, by certain resolutions adopted on 23rd January 1992, 19th June 2001 and 22nd July 2002 in relation to Somalia, on 22nd December 2003 in relation to Liberia, and on 12th June 2009 in relation to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea), called upon Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom to apply certain measures to give effect to decisions of that Council in relation to those States:

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 1 of the United Nations Act 1946( 1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order as follows:

Citation, commencement and extent

1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the United Nations Sanctions (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2015 and comes into force on 25th January 2016.

(2) This Order extends to the United Kingdom.

Amendment of the Somalia (United Nations Sanctions) Order 2002

2. In article 2 of the Somalia (United Nations Sanctions) Order 2002( 2), for the definition of "restricted goods" substitute-

""restricted goods" means the goods, software and technology specified in Schedule 2 to the Export Control Order 2008( 3);".

Amendment of the Liberia (United Nations Sanctions) Order 2004

3. In article 2 of the Liberia (United Nations Sanctions) Order 2004( 4), for the definition of "restricted goods" substitute-

""restricted goods" means the goods, software and technology specified in Schedule 2 to the Export Control Order 2008;".

Amendment of the North Korea (United Nations Sanctions) Order 2009

4. In article 2 of the North Korea (United Nations Sanctions) Order 2009( 5), in the appropriate place insert-

""general customs official" means a designated general customs official under section 3(1) of the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009( 6), or a designated customs revenue official under section 11(1) of that Act;".
