The Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) (Scotland) Amendment Order, 1960

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by sections 10 and 107 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act, 1947(a), and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following order:—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) (Scotland) Amendment Order, 1960, and shall come into force on the 11th day of November, 1960.

(2) The Interpretation Act, 1889(b), shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

2. The Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) (Scotland) Order, 1950(c), is hereby amended as follows:

(1) In paragraph (2) of Article 2—

(a) after the definition of "the Act" there shall be added the following definition—

"betting office" means any building in respect of which there is for the time being in force a betting office licence pursuant to the provisions of the Betting and Gaming Act, 1960(d);

(b) after the definition of "light industrial building" there shall be added the following definition:—

"motor vehicle" means any motor vehicle for the purposes of the Road Traffic Acts, 1930 to 1956;

(c) in the definition of "office" for the words "post office;" there shall be substituted the words "post office or betting office;"

(d) in the definition of "shop" after the word "office", there shall be inserted the words "betting office";

(2) In Class I of the Schedule there shall be added the following further exception:—

(v) a shop for the sale of motor vehicles.
