The Tribunals and Inquiries (Discretionary Inquiries) Order 1967

We, the Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain and the Secretary of State for Scotland, in exercise of the powers conferred on us by section 1(2) of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1966(a), hereby make the following Order:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Tribunals and Inquiries (Discretionary Inquiries) Order 1967 and shall come into operation on 17th April 1967.

2. The Interpretation Act 1889(b) shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

3. The inquiries specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby designated for the purposes of section 1 of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1966, and section 12 of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1958(c) shall apply in relation to such inquiries, so, however, that this Article shall not be taken as applying subsection (1) of the said section 12 to any such decision of a Minister as is mentioned in subsection (2) of that section.
