Unemployment Insurance (Transitional Provisions Amendment) Act, 1929,

(19 & 20 Geo. 5.) CHAPTER 19.

An Act to amend subsection (2) of section fourteen of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1927, by extending to twenty-four months the period of twelve months therein mentioned.

B E it enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. Subsection (2) of section fourteen of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1927 (which provides that an insured contributor who proves certain matters within a period of twelve months from the commencement of that Act shall be treated as if he had proved that the first statutory condition was fulfilled in his case and shall continue to be so treated throughout any benefit year which is current in or commences within the said period) shall have effect as if the words ‘twenty-four months’ were substituted for the words ‘twelve months’ in both places where those words occur in the said subsection.
