1Proposal to supplement the CP6 Track Usage Price List
1.1The purpose of this letter is to propose, and seek approval of, a supplement to the Control Period 6
(CP6) Track Usage Price List, consistent with Schedule 7 oftheWest Midlands TrainsTrack Access
Contract. The proposed supplement comprises a new Variable Usage Charge (VUC) rate for the
vehicle type(s) that are listed in Table 1, andwhich areoperated by West Midlands Trains.
1.2This proposed supplement to the Track Usage Price List has been agreed between Network Rail and
West Midlands Trains. It is required to reflectthe fitment of Hall Bushes to Class 350/1 Class 350/3
and Class 350/4 vehicles to reduce track wear and reduce Track Access charges.
1.3The new VUC rate(s)proposed in this letter areshown in Table 1 and werecalculated using the
agreed CP6 VUC calculator developed by Network Rail in 2017/18 prices.The output sheet from the
calculator sets out the proposed new rate andcorrespondinginput information. Wherean averaging
approach has been adopted, the VUC calculator output sheet display the averaged vehicle
characteristics used in the calculation. Both the averaging methodology adopted (if applicable) and
the VUC calculator output aredetailed inAppendix A and Appendix Brespectively, to this letter.
