Parts adjacent with. Water; after reciting, That
by
reafon of the great
Increafe of Buildings and Inhabitants
in
and about the City
of
IVejlmin-
fier^ the Liberty
thereof,
and other Places
in
the County
of
Middlejrex»,
there were greater Occafions
for
Water for the Safety and neceflary Ufes
of the faid Inhabitants than were fupplied by the Waterworks then
in
being,
and
that great Advantages would accrue
if
new Waterworks
were eredted
in
convenient Places
for
providing and fupplying the faid
Inhabitants with good and wholefome Water from the River Thames^by
one
or
more Cut
or
Cuts
to
be made
at
any convenient Place
or
Places
between the Grounds belonging
to The
Royal Hofpital
at
Chelfea and
the Houfes
or
Grounds called
The
Neat Houfes,
in the
County
of
Middlefex, into Canals and Ponds proper
for
receiving
the
fame,
and
from thence
to
convey
and
raife fuch Water into convenient Referva-
tories
to
be erefted
or
made
at
any Place
or
Places between
the
Places
called Oliver's Mount and Hyde Park
; for
the Purpofes
of
that Aft,
it
is enafted, that
the
feveral Perions therein named (hould
be
and they
were thereby appointed Cornmifiioners, Undertakers,
and
Truftees,.
for defigning, carrying
on, and
effecting
the
Purpofes aforefaid,
and
for direfting* ordering, and making luch Waterworks, and
for
main-
taining, preierving,
and
fupporting

the
Property
