Australian mining company PanAust (ASX:PNA) said it had agreed to buy 80% in the Frieda River copper-gold project in Papua New Guinea for an initial USD75m (EUR55.4m) from Swiss natural resource group Glencore Xstrata plc (LON:GLEN).

US generators manufacturer Generac Holdings Inc (NYSE:GNRC) said it had wrapped up the acquisition of the generator-set business of Baldor Electric from Swiss power and automation technology specialist ABB Ltd (VTX:ABBN).

- KADANT TO ACQUIRE CANADIAN STRANDERS PRODUCER CARMANAH
US-based supplier to the global pulp and paper industry Kadant Inc (NYSE:KAI) said it had agreed to take over Canadian stranders maker Carmanah Design and Manufacturing Inc for CAD54m (USD51.7m/EUR38.3m) in cash.

- BLOOMIN' BRANDS AGREES TO BUY CONTROLLING STAKE IN BRAZILIAN JV
US casual dining restaurant firm Bloomin' Brands Inc (NASDAQ:BLMN) said it had agreed to buy a controlling stake in the Outback Steakhouse business in Brazil, operated as a joint venture.

- DIGITAL GLOBE SERVICES ACQUIRES AMPUSH MEDIA UNIT
Bermuda-based Digital Globe Services Ltd (LON:DGS) said it had taken over the education business unit (EBU) of US online advertising company Ampush Media Inc for a maximum consideration of USD3.8m (EUR2.8m).

US fixed-income and derivatives marketplaces operator Tradeweb Markets LLC said it had concluded its takeover of sector player BondDesk Group LLC, which enabled the company to extend its retail offering.

- NORTH MEDIA WRAPS UP BUY OF DANISH NEWSPAPERS FROM BERLINGSKE MEDIA
Danish North Media A/S (CPH:NORTHM) said it had closed the previously announced purchase of eight newspapers based in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg from local Berlingske Media A/S, part of UKâ[euro](tm)s Mecom Group plc (LON:MEC).

- FTC GIVES UNCONDITIONAL NOD TO OFFICE DEPOT, OFFICEMAX TIE-UP
The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has unconditionally approved the pending merger of equals between office supply retailers Office Depot Inc (NYSE:ODP) and OfficeMax Inc (NYSE:OMX), the pair said.

- ICE, NYSE UNVEIL PRELIMINARY SHAREHOLDER CONSIDERATION ELECTIONS FOR TIE-UP
US regulated exchanges and clearing houses operator IntercontinentalExchange Inc (NYSE:ICE), or ICE, and takeover target NYSE Euronext (NYSE:NYX) said the stock portion of the consideration of the cash-and-stock deal was significantly oversubscribed pursuant to preliminary consideration elections by NYSE's shareholders.

Russian state-controlled telecoms major Rostelekom OAO (MCX:RTKM) could merge its wireless business with Tele2 Russia, providing the latterâ[euro](tm)s owners with a controlling stake in the combined entity.

US insurer American International Group Inc (NYSE:AIG) hopes to decide during the current quarter if it should proceed with a divestment or listing of aircraft leasing arm International Lease Finance Corp (ILFC).

- BROOKFIELD PROPERTY PARTNERS LIFTS STAKE IN GENERAL GROWTH PROPERTIES
Bermuda-based commercial real estate firm Brookfield Property Partners LP (NYSE:BPY), or Brookfield, said it had agreed to buy additional shares and warrants in US sector player General Growth Properties Inc (NYSE:GGP), or GGP, for an aggregate USD1.4bn (EUR1bn).

Provident New York Bancorp (NYSE:PBNY) said it had wrapped up its USD344m (EUR254.5m) all-stock takeover of fellow bank holding company Sterling Bancorp (NYSE:STL).

- KEMIRA, WILMAR AGREE JV FOR AKD PRODUCTION IN CHINA
Finnish chemicals group Kemira Oyj (HEL:KRA1V) said it would create a 50/50 joint venture with Singapore-based Wilmar International Ltd (SGX:F34) to produce alkyl ketene dimer (AKD) wax in China via two equally-owned ventures.

US unified data management and data protection solutions provider Overland Storage Inc (NASDAQ:OVRL) said it had signed a final accord to buy German data storage and data protection solutions firm Tandberg Data Holdings Sarl in an all-stock transaction.

Irish consulting and outsourcing firm Accenture Plc (NYSE:ACN) said it would buy Canadian software company PCO Innovation, specialising in product lifecycle management (PLM), without disclosing the price.
